Overview
Claude is the silent main protagonist of Grand Theft Auto III and a supporting character in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. He is a career criminal whose betrayal by Catalina sets the events of GTA III in motion.

Claude appears chronologically in 1992 during the countryside racing storyline in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. He is Catalina's new partner and races against Carl Johnson before leaving for Liberty City with Catalina.

In 2001, Claude is betrayed and shot by Catalina after a bank robbery in Liberty City. After escaping a prison convoy with 8-Ball, he works for several criminal organizations across the city, including the Leone Family and the Yakuza, while pursuing revenge against Catalina.
Personality
Claude is famously silent throughout his appearances. His lack of dialogue makes him appear cold, focused and detached, with his actions defining him more than words.
Name and Legacy
Claude's name is not spoken in Grand Theft Auto III, but Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas identifies him as Claude through Catalina. The surname "Speed" remains disputed and is not treated as confirmed.
